Kulati Dive Site in

Wakatobi

Located in Tomia, Kulati is another one of the dive sites in Wakatobi that is accessible only when the current is calm. When the opportunity arises, Kulati is to be noticed in your itinerary.

A Japanese cargo ship got torpedoed during World War II, and over time, the structures were covered in corals of different species and colors. A school of spadefish, fusiliers, black tile snappers, rabbits, groupers, parrotfish, emperor, angelfish, and damselfish swim freely around the wreck. The critters like frogfish, shrimps, seahorses, and ribbon eels have made the reef attached to the impact as their home.

Highlights

This is the only wreck dive at Tomia and can only be accessed when the sea is really calm. A Japanese 30 m long metal freighter in a small Bay got torpedoed at anchorage 65 years ago. The twisted metal structures are heavily overgrown with corals.
