Day 2 – 7

3 – 4 dives per day, including night dives where possible

“Raja Ampat” means “Four Kings” referring to each of the four main islands; Misool, Salawati, Batantas, and Waigeo. Nestled into the Northwest corner of the Bird’s Head Peninsula in Indonesia’s West Papua province, the archipelago contains seven Marine Protected Areas covering an extensive 9,100 square kilometers.

Notably, one of the most biologically diverse locations in the world, (boasting the record amount of fish species ever recorded in one dive!) the Bird’s Head Peninsula hosts 574 species of coral, while Raja Ampat itself hosts 553 species, it is the absolute epicenter of diversity.

Exceptionally photogenic, steep limestone cliffs rise out of the sparkling turquoise waters surrounded by pristine fringing coral reefs, blue water drop-offs, mangrove flats, and seagrass beds. Water temperatures are generally between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius and strong currents characterize many of the dive sites in the region.

Visiting areas such as Dampier Strait, Gam, Mansuar, and beautiful Misool, the greatest of Raja Ampat, divers will have their dreams come to true onboard Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia. Through topography filled with vertical walls, caves, lagoons, and slopes, you can find manta rays at their cleaning stations, sharks, turtles, and pygmy seahorses clinging to gorgonian fans in the current, and more excellent macro life. Out of the water, look out for the exceptionally rare and endemic birds including the bird of paradise.
Day 8
Awake to an early breakfast on board and prepare for your departure from Sorong. Disembark after a farewell from the crew. You will be accompanied by the crew to the airport.

The last dive of the trip will be on the final day at around 11 am. Divers are recommended to wait for 24hours before flying after the last dive.
