Mikumba 2

This liveaboard is truly exemplary. Mikumba Dua is an Indonesian, traditionally-styled vessel that is solid, well equipped, lovingly restored, and very well maintained. Even the engine room is immaculate! It is perfect for its full guest compliment and ample staff. The crew are a great bunch, who are discrete, work well together, and go the extra mile to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. This is an owner-run operation, and one of the owners (Jem) is always on board. Jem is a wonderful human being, who is always pleasant, and doting on his guests. He has a really great influence on his crew, who each run all aspects of the trip according to their individual roles, be they deckhands, chef, captain, engineer, or dive master. We had one of the two en suite upstairs cabins, with a balcony. It is spacious, and pristine. The common areas are vast, some are shaded, and the non-diving time seems to go by just too fast. Our guests all mingled and yet were able to enjoy private time without intruding on others personal space. That’s often not easy on a midsized boat. The food is tasty, innovative, fresh and healthy, abundant but not wasteful and like the diving, very varied. The diving is incredible. Every single dive was different in its character, which is not an easy thing to achieve. Although some of the dives were not overly exciting, the landscapes and clarity of the water made them equally awesome. We saw and experienced everything from the larger pelagics (including Mantas and Reefies) to the tropical exotics, smaller macros and of course some great coral spots. One of the dives is exhilarating to say the least.

Fantastic Experience. The crew is amazing, Hugo is wonderful and he really knows how to keep the guests engaged. He really made our whole experience wonderful!! The vessel is spacious enough to relax, eat, sleep and dive. What was AMAZING - Hugo made sure we had a jampacked agenda outside the diving, the sunsets, beach visits, paddle boards, games , sunsets, hikes... We absolutely enjoyed all the activities and your crew is Fantastic!!! Thank you for hosting us , this is a a holiday we will always remember :)
