A drift diving spot, Barracuda Point, is located southwest of Kakaban and consists of a steep wall. The name itself is self-explanatory as the sighting of schooling chevron barracudas is guaranteed.
Barracudas are not the only stars on this site. Big eye trevallies, spiny mackerels, eagle and manta rays, butterflyfish, angelfish, clownfish, triggerfish, surgeonfish, and sweetlips are commonly seen. Different species of sharks, like reef sharks (whitetip, blacktip, and greytip), thresher, oceanic blacktip and whitetip, and nurse sharks also often appear. Leopard and hammerhead sharks can be found occasionally. Hawksbill and green turtles are never absent due to Kakaban’s proximity to Maratua and Sangalaki, two of the largest turtle populations in Indonesia.
