Translated in Indonesia as Crazy Rocks, this spot is a rocky ridge, 25 meters wide and 50 meters long, and lies at a depth of 28 to 42 meters. This dive site is exposed to currents because it is the most extreme northern point of the reef.
Healthy and colorful sponges and gorgonians are everywhere, while long-fin bannerfish, triggerfish, tuna, and barracudas are often seen in massive schools. But Batu Gila should be on the list because of the scalloped hammerhead sharks. Schooling of these magnificent sharks can usually be found off the edge of the ridge.
If seeing scalloped hammerhead sharks is not enough, grey sharks, silvertips, and manta rays often show themselves in the region.
