Biorocks Dive Site in

Gili Trawangan

This artificial project initiated by Manta Dive in 2006 is another spot worth checking out. With over 100 Biorock structures, mainly in the eastern part of Gili Trawangan, this project aims to protect the coral reefs from bleaching.

With a depth of 5-25 meters, the project has resulted in faster growth rates for stony corals and regenerated damaged reefs around the island. Soft corals, sponges, tunicates, and bivalves can grow on Biorocks, while scorpionfish, lionfish, damselfish, butterflyfish, and triggerfish have made these structures their home.
