Geographically, this island is close to Komodo National Park, but administratively, Banta Island is still part of West Nusa Tenggara province. The area is the meeting point of the Indian and Pacific oceans, which means the marine biodiversity here should impress you.
Schooling tuna, jackfish, snapper, groupers, trevally, surgeonfish, and coral trout are regular inhabitants around Banta Island. Green and hawksbill turtles and different species of sharks, such as whitetip, blacktip, and sometimes hammerhead sharks, can also be seen here.
