Mahengatang Island Dive Site in

Sangihe

With an underwater volcano named Banua Wuhu that rises from over 400 meters below the surface, Mahengatang provides another different diving experience in Sangihe.

The seamount creates bubbles among the boulders, giving a tint of yellow colors. Corals of different species, from cabbage corals, soft corals in yellow, pink, and orange, and giant barrel sponges that reach up to 1,5 meters in height are just some of the incredible coral reefs available in Mahengatang Island.

Schools of fusiliers, jacks, mackerels, bumphead parrotfish, and black-tipped reef sharks can be seen among the rising bubbles. Please wear the appropriate diving suits, as the sulfur content in the water can cause skin irritations.
