Ruang Island (Sangihe) Dive Site in

Sulawesi

Ruang is dominated by a volcanic cone and the two black lava flows that can be seen running from the top and into the sea. With black sand and different species of hard, black, and soft corals in the background, barracudas, tuna, groupers, snappers, butterflyfish, and bannerfish can be seen moving swiftly from one point to another.

While dolphins and sharks are often found in the deeper areas, critters like pygmy seahorses, rhinopias, frogfish, and nudibranchs are content to be among the gorgonians and sea sponges in different colors and species.
