Suangi Dive Site in

Lembata

Suangi is located on the southern part of Lembata Island, bordering directly to the Savu Sea. This is also where the Lamalera people do whale hunting during the dry season. Though the tradition is worth mentioning, the underwater scenery deserves to be appreciated.

The dive site is an open sea, meaning many actions happen here. From the slopes adorn with coral reefs to schools of fusiliers, angelfish, and parrotfish, everything can be spotted in Suangi. Pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, pipefish, and cuttlefish can be seen in and out of the coral reefs and the Gorgonian sea fans.

Of course, the big players like sperm and pilot whales are regular visitors, primarily when the dry season occurs, providing another spectacular diving experience in Lembata.
