Tanjung Darat Dive Site in

Maumere

Located on the east side of Maumere and opposite Pangabatang Island, this dive site is known to have strong currents. With drop-offs and coral slopes, and when the visibility is at its peak, it is possible to look down to some 50 meters.

The currents here are the favorites among large fish like reef sharks, and hammerhead sharks can occasionally be found in the deeper waters, reserved for advanced divers. Mackerels, tuna, jacks, and groupers can be found here alongside turtles, stingrays, and octopuses. While critters like nudibranchs, frogfish, cuttlefish, scorpionfish, moray and ribbon eels, shrimps, crabs, and angelfish stay close to the corals, waiting to be spotted.
