As one of Indonesia’s outlying islands, Wetar Island is not accustomed to divers, which means many of the sites in this area are relatively untouched. Diving here will be one for the storybook as not many people can say they have dived here.
Barracudas, trevallies, and reef sharks are seen regularly sauntering this region, while gigantic sea fans, corals, and sponges are showing their impressive colors along the plateau that goes deeper into the Banda Sea.
Two species of reef manta rays and oceanic manta rays can also be spotted frequently here due to their location in the open sea. Hawksbill and green turtles can also be seen in the waters of Wetar Island, as well as giant fish like whales and dolphins.
